pancreatitis, and chronic pancreatitis
EDITORIAL SYNOPSIS Two hundred and five confirmed cases of pancreatitis have been classified. Primary calcifying pancreatitis is associated with alcoholism. Pancreatic changes are patchy and related to plugging of minute ducts. Cysts are frequent. Obstruction to the main pancreatic duct may also result in chronic pancreatitis. Acute pancreatitis and acute recurrent pancreatitis are often associ...
متن کاملA mathematical model for chronic wounds.
Chronic wounds are often associated with ischemic conditions whereby the blood vascular system is damaged. A mathematical model which accounts for these conditions is developed and computational results are described in the two-dimensional radially symmetric case. Preliminary results for the three-dimensional axially symmetric case are also included.
متن کاملPathogenesis of Chronic Pancreatitis
Chronic pancreatitis is a progressive inflammatory disorder characterized by loss of functional pancreatic tissue, fibrous tissue conversion and ultimately loss of endocrine and exocrine function. However, although morphologic and clinical features have been well described, the pathogenesis of chronic pancreatitis is incompletely understood. There is no single etiology that inevitably leads to ...
متن کاملEpidemiology of Chronic Pancreatitis
Epidemiologic descriptions of chronic pancreatitis (CP) have changed over time. The focus of reports from 1950-1990's was to describe the clinical profile and natural history in a series of patients. Many landmark studies during this period are crucial to our understanding of the disease. In the past 25 years, studies have also focused on describing population distributions of CP, its risk base...
